Vix unveils bold remakes and star-packed originals to dominate streaming wars
TelevisaUnivision is expanding its streaming platform, Vix, with a fresh wave of original productions. The company has greenlit several high-profile projects, including new seasons of hit series and modern remakes of classic Mexican stories.
The latest announcements feature star-studded casts and bold retellings of beloved tales, aiming to attract both loyal fans and new audiences. One of the most anticipated projects is a new adaptation of Yo No Creo en los Hombres. The story centres on Julieta, a woman disillusioned with love, and her unexpected romantic journey. First adapted in 1955 as a film starring Ana Bertha Leal, it became a cultural phenomenon. A 1991 telenovela version with Lucía Méndez and Alfredo Adame further cemented its popularity.
Now, two new versions are in the works for Vix. Argos will produce one remake starring Marisol del Olmo, while a separate 2026 revival—headlined by Angelique Boyer—promises a modern twist on the classic. The original 1991 TelevisaUnivision production featured Gabriela Roel in a key role.
Another major announcement is Mujeres Asesinas Season 4, set to return with a fresh lineup of actresses. Angélica Rivera and Susana Zabaleta will join the cast, continuing the series' tradition of gripping crime dramas based on real-life cases.
Beyond dramas, Vix will also debut Carnada, a thriller starring Adrián Uribe as Lalo Sánchez, a former detective who goes undercover to hunt a serial killer. Meanwhile, the docuseries Implacables y Divinas will spotlight Aracely Arámbula and Galilea Montijo, exploring the lives of influential women in entertainment and society.
These productions mark TelevisaUnivision's ongoing push to strengthen Vix with exclusive content, blending nostalgia with contemporary storytelling. The new Vix projects will bring together established stars and fresh narratives. Yo No Creo en los Hombres alone will see two distinct adaptations, while Mujeres Asesinas and Carnada add to the platform's growing library. The slate of shows is set to roll out in the coming months, reinforcing Vix's position in the competitive streaming market.
