Niklas Karwath has been appointed as the new CEO of Knappschaft Kliniken Vest GmbH, effective July 1, 2025. He will be sharing leadership duties with Nikas Wintz, as they oversee the operations at Knappschaft Kliniken Recklinghausen and Paracelsus Marl.
Karwath brings a wealth of experience in hospital management, having spent several years in leadership roles, most recently as the Commercial Director at Helios Kliniken Wiesbaden-Taunus. There, he managed two clinics with a total of 240 beds and six medical care centers (MVZ).
One of the key focuses of Karwath's leadership will be on strengthening medical quality and further developing the hospitals. A central project for him is the expansion of the Kinderklinik Marl (Children's Clinic Marl) and a planned new building at the Marl site.
Karwath's previous roles included responsibility for financial planning, structural reorganization, and the implementation of digital solutions such as digital patient files and interdisciplinary process optimizations. This experience is expected to provide valuable insights for the strategic direction of Knappschaft Kliniken Recklinghausen and Paracelsus Marl.
