Born with visual impairment, Taliso Engel can see only 4% vision in his right eye and a maximum of 8% in his left. An unfortunate middle ear infection also left him deaf in his right ear. Yet, this extraordinary young man has become one of Germany's most successful para-swimmers, winning medals at European and World Championships, and scooping up gold at the Paralympics in Tokyo and Paris. He currently holds the world record in the 100m breaststroke para-swimming event with a time of 1:01.84 minutes.

Like any contestant, Engel views "Let's Dance" as an exciting challenge. However, he also acknowledges the physical demands, which differ greatly from his swimming routines. "I'm hoping to learn a new sport, improve my dancing skills, and have an unforgettable time," he shared before joining the show.
