Vishal Bhardwaj's O'Romeo earns ₹47.15 crore in its debut week

Vishal Bhardwaj's latest film, O'Romeo, hit cinemas on 13 February 2026. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, the movie has already earned ₹47.15 crore in its first week at the Indian box office. Critics and audiences, however, have given it mixed reactions so far.

O'Romeo marks a strong start compared to Bhardwaj's earlier work. His 2014 film Bang Bang managed only ₹1.5 crore in its opening week. Even Omkara (2006), often mistakenly linked to O'Romeo, collected around ₹20 crore in its first seven days—far less than the new release.

The film's release has also reignited memories of a past rivalry. Actor Hrithik Roshan, who starred in Bang Bang, took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise Shahid Kapoor and O'Romeo. His post reminded fans of the 2014 box office clash between Bang Bang and Bhardwaj's Haider.

O'Romeo has opened with impressive numbers, outperforming Bhardwaj's previous films in its first week. The mixed reviews have not slowed its box office momentum. Meanwhile, the social media buzz from Roshan's tweet has added to the film's growing attention.
