Violinist Mirijam Contzen Makes an Appearance in Amberg
In a captivating evening of classical music, Mirijam Contzen, a highly esteemed violinist, will make her debut in Amberg on Sunday, November 12, at 7:30 PM at the Stadttheater Amberg.
Contzen, born in 1976 and appointed professor of violin at the Universität der Künste Berlin in 2016, is an internationally sought-after soloist, chamber musician, festival director, and educator. Known for her grandeur, exceptional technical mastery, and distinctive interpretative individuality, Contzen's performances are not to be missed.
Growing up with Béla Bartók's Second Violin Concerto as a master student of Tibor Varga, who knew the composer, Contzen has developed a deep appreciation for Bartók's unique style. The Second Violin Concerto, characterised by strong contrasts between themes and rough passages alternating with fine cantilenas, promises to be a highlight of the concert.
Contzen's repertoire extends beyond the standard works, reflecting her passion for both the familiar and the unfamiliar. In 2020, she released a Sony Classical recording of Franz Clement’s two violin concertos, including a world premiere recording, which won the German Record Critics' Award and the OPUS Klassik for "Recording of the Year" in the concerto category.
In addition to her performance career, Contzen is committed to nurturing young talents and music educators at the Berlin University of the Arts. She encourages a broad spectrum and supports the next generation in finding their own path.
Joining Contzen for the concert will be the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, an orchestra known for their wonderful evenings with great audiences in beautiful halls. Tickets for the concert are available at the Amberg Tourist Information office, tel. 09621/101233.
Those who have seen Contzen perform before will attest to her brilliant, clear playing with a beautiful tone and sensitive touch, reflecting her deep interpretive insight and individuality. Her collaborations with renowned musicians such as Emmanuel Ax, Joshua Bell, and Mischa Maisky underline her standing in the classical music world.
Aside from her debut in Amberg, recent news includes the discovery of a burned-out car with a body near Stetten near Neunburg vorm Wald, an investigation by the Amberg Criminal Police, and the announcement that Oppl in Mitterteich, a traditional Zoiglstube, will soon stop serving beer.
A charm pendant, symbolizing connection, was shared by Laura Dahlmeier's mother, and the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen had a wonderful evening with a great audience in a very beautiful hall in a previous performance.
Don't miss this opportunity to witness the extraordinary talent of Mirijam Contzen in Amberg.
