In the past 48 hours, the peaceful town of Alokbali in Narsingdi has been shaken by political violence. The incidents, which occurred within the context of political activity, have left three people dead and over a dozen injured.

Yesterday, during a clash between the BNP groups led by Alokbali union BNP convener Shah Alam Chowdhury and expelled politico Kaiyum Mia, Kaiyum's supporter Idan Mia, 60, was shot dead, and at least 10 others were injured. The conflict was going on between these two BNP groups in the area.

The other BNP group was led by Kaiyum Mia, who was expelled from his position. The long-standing conflict in Alokbali, Narsingdi, is between factions associated with former MPs Khandaker Nurul Islam and Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, with the local party official Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain leading one faction.

Today, during Friday prayers, supporters of Kaiyum allegedly attacked the house of Royes Ali, resulting in the death of Ferdousi Akter and the injury of two others. The police are currently investigating both incidents.

Extra forces have been deployed in the Alokbali area to maintain security, and the incidents are linked to the political party, the BNP. The clashes were between rival factions of the BNP, with the other faction being led by expelled politico Kaiyum Mia.
