Vince McMahon, the ex-head of WWE, has been charged with reckless driving regarding a car collision in Connecticut.

In a recent turn of events, former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) CEO Vince McMahon found himself in legal trouble after a car crash on a Connecticut highway.

The incident occurred on the Merritt Parkway in Westport, Connecticut, last Thursday morning (July 24, 2025), around 9:22 a.m. McMahon, who was driving his 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed, was cited for reckless driving and following too closely after causing a multi-car crash.

According to reports, McMahon rear-ended a 2023 BMW 430, which also resulted in debris hitting a 2020 Ford Fusion traveling in the opposite direction. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the Bentley and BMW airbags deployed, and all three vehicles were towed from the scene.

McMahon was issued a misdemeanor summons and released on a $500 bond. His court date is scheduled for late August 2025 in Stamford Superior Court.

It's worth noting that McMahon, aged 78 or 79 depending on source timing, had previously resigned from WWE leadership amid sexual misconduct allegations, which he has denied. Representatives for Vince McMahon did not immediately return email messages regarding the car crash.

McMahon's address on the police report was listed as the former WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. His wife, Linda McMahon, is now the U.S. education secretary.

TMZ published photos of the car crash, showing heavy damage to Vince McMahon's 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed and rear-end damage to the BMW 430 he struck. The driver of the BMW described McMahon’s speeding and unsafe driving behavior before impact.

This is not the first time McMahon has been in the headlines. He bought the World Wrestling Federation in 1982 and transformed the company from a regional wrestling company into a worldwide phenomenon. He was also known for performing at WWE events as himself.

However, in 2022, McMahon stepped down as WWE's CEO, and he also resigned as executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings last year. McMahon has denied the sexual misconduct allegations. TMZ reported the car crash on Tuesday. No new information about the car crash was provided in this paragraph.
