Hitting the Sand in Friedrichsfelde: 2022 Long Jump Event at the Annual Village Festival
Get ready to leap into summer with the vibrant 22nd edition of Friedrichsfelde's annual village festival! On June 15th, the rural town of Friedrichsfelder comes alive under the banner of "Community Sports".Join Georg Schneider and his dedicated team as they rekindle the spirit of sports and fun in the heart of Friedrichsfeld.
The event, typically held in the bustling town center, will showcase a thrilling long jump competition for primary school students. Despite a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year promises to be a comeback to remember.
Young athletes will have the opportunity to strut their stuff on the event's mobile track, with the competition taking place on the civic center's forecourt. To help set the stage, T-shirts and starting numbers will be available for all participants from 8:30 AM, even the youngest athletes in the U8 category (7 years and under).
With a combined total distance of 1200 meters on the line, the participating students aren't just jumping for fun—they're leaping for learning! The school stands to earn a whopping €1200 grant if they manage to achieve or surpass this mark. For every meter beyond 1200 meters, an extra €1 will be added to the pot. While it might seem challenging, past performances have shown that this goal is far from out of reach!
The event kicks off at 9 AM, and the competition schedule is as follows:- 2018 and younger age group: 9 AM - 10:30 AM, award ceremony around 10:30 AM- 2017 age group: 11 AM - 12:15 PM, award ceremony around 12:15 PM- 2016 age group: 12:45 PM - 2 PM, award ceremony around 2 PM- 2014/2015 age group: 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM, award ceremony around 3:30 PM
