Woah! The mighty Eisbaeren Berlin, Germany's reigning ice hockey champions, have snagged their first fresh face for the upcoming season. The lucky guy hails from none other than their fierce rivals, the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven – yes, we're talking about Markus Vikingstad! This Norwegian-German powerhouse has signed a snazzy three-year contract, as announced by the club.

Vikingstad, a 25-year-old, mighty Norwegian who's already a proud German citizen, is currently prepping for his third World Championship with Norway, ready to unleash his skills on the ice. He first strapped on the skates for the Stavanger Oilers in his homeland's highest league way back in 2016. Since 2021, he's been tearing it up in Bremerhaven, bagging a total of 89 points (36 goals, 53 assists) in 219 DEL games, proving his mettle on the ice.

Just after the heart-pounding championship celebrations, the Eisbaeren dropped some big news – several players have extended their contracts! The impressive goaltending duo Jake Hildebrand and Jonas Stettmer will return, as will defenders Adam Smith, Mitch Reinke, and Markus Niemelainen. Wowie, the top scorer Ty Ronning even signed a savvy two-year extension, while Blaine Byron and Eric Hoerdler have committed to a year more.
