Vigilante Frank Castle, renowned for his lethal pursuit of justice, resurfaces to wreak havoc on criminals once more as the notorious Punisher.

Time to Revisit the Demonic Avenger: The Punisher is making a comeback, both on our screens and in the comics!

Fan-favorite antihero, Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher, is set to grace the pages of Marvel's latest offering, Punisher: Red Band. This hard-hitting, gritty five-issue miniseries comes from the pens of Benjamin Percy, who's previously penned Wolverine, and Julius Ohta, best known for his work on Iron Man.

After an apparent disappearance in 2023, a memory-less Frank Castle finds himself back in the heart of New York City, and, as you may have guessed, he's still got an itch for "exterminating" those who deserve it. Expect him to wade through a pool of blood, just as he does in his television counterpart's bloody exploits. The "Red Band" label on this series hints at a more explicit content than usual.

Benjamin Percy, expressing his excitement over the project, remarked, "Frank Castle is one of my favorite characters, and Punisher is a series I've aspired to work on for a long, long time. I intend to delve deep and push the boundaries in this series, delivering non-stop, raw, and visceral action."

Marvel has struggled to find the right balance for Frank Castle in the past. At times, the misfortune of a heavily armed vigilante airing near real-life mass shootings caused unease, while at others, police appropriation of his symbol for their patrol vehicles raised moral questions. In Daredevil: Born Again's first season, these issues were addressed head-on, with Frank taking out a group of Punisher-emblazoned officers, declaring they were nothing but self-serving hypocrites.

Brace yourselves for what's next when Punisher: Red Band rolls out on September 10, 2025.
