Vigilante Frank Castle, Renowned for Deadly Vengeance, Resurfaces as The Punisher Again

Let's dive back into the gritty, crime-ridden world of Frank Castle, AKA the Punisher, as he graces both our comic book pages and our small screens again.

Gunning for a comeback, Marvel's infamous vigilante antihero is all set to star in the five-issue miniseries, Punisher: Red Band. This hard-hitting, blood-soaked action is written by Benjamin Percy, renowned for his work on Wolverine, and illustrated by Julius Ohta, known for his work on Iron Man.

Remember when Frank, last seen in 2023, took charge of the Hand ninja cult, discovered his long-lost wife was trying to divorce him, and found himself stranded in Weirdworld? Well, things get a bit foggy for the Punisher when he returns to New York, with no memory of his tumultuous past. But make no mistake, when Frank swoops into town, lives get snuffed out, just like on the hit Netflix show.

Percy couldn't contain his excitement for the project, confessing, "Frank Castle is one of my all-time favorite characters, and Punisher is a series I've been drooling to write for eons. I'm going to pull out all the stops and push the extremes of my beloved genre: bloody psychopaths. Get ready for some gut-wrenching mayhem!"

Marvel has been uncertain about what to do with the Punisher in the past, with his violent antics causing a stir during times of national tragedy or when police have co-opted his symbol. Daredevil: Born Again addressed the misuse of the Punisher symbol during its first season by having Frank take out a group of 'Punisher' cops who were using his symbol to decorate their vehicles.

So, grab your trusty battle armor, folks! Let's see how far Punisher: Red Band takes things when it hits our shelves on September 10, 2025.
