Vigilante Frank Castle, Infamous for Violence, Returns as the Punisher in New Series
Calling all comic book fans! The Punisher is making a comeback! Marvel's gritty anti-hero Frank Castle is back on the page with a vengeance in the five-issue miniseries, Punisher: Red Band.
Written by Benjamin Percy, the brilliant mind behind Wolverine, and beautifully illustrated by Julius Ohta, the artist of Iron Man, this action-packed series is guaranteed to send shivers down your spine.
So, what happens to our antihero this time around? Well, Frank wakes up in New York without any recollection of his past life. Percy shared his excitement about writing the series, saying, "Frank Castle is one of my all-time favorite characters, and I've been dying to write this series for ages. I'm going all in with this one and pushing the boundaries of what you'd expect from the genre. Get ready for some street-level carnage!"
Marvel has had a tough time figuring out what to do with Frank over the years. Some of the uncertainty stemmed from his Netflix series and the timing of a heavily armed vigilante appearing on screens following various mass shootings. Other times, it was due to the police co-opting his symbol and using it to decorate their vehicles. But fear not, because this new series promises to push boundaries and deliver on all fronts.
