Vigilante Frank Castle, infamous as the Punisher, resurfaces with renewed determination to wreak vengeance upon wrongdoers
Get ready, comic fans! The Punisher is back and unleashing chaos on the pages once again.
In September 2025, Marvel's infamous antihero, Frank Castle, returns to the comic book scene in the gruesome miniseries, Punisher: Red Band. Penned by the talented Benjamin Percy (Wolverine) and illustrated by Julius Ohta (Iron Man), this serial promises a bloody good time.
Last we saw of Frank, he had seized control of the Hand ninja cult, discovered his wife was alive but seeking a divorce, and got lost in Weirdworld. Now, amidst New York City, Frank's memory of his past life is lost, but not his lethal skills. As in the TV series, this Punisher is prepared to spill some blood.
Benjamin Percy, expressing his excitement, stated, "I've been itching to write a Punisher series for years, and this one will be as brutal and bloody as ever. Street-level carnage awaits you."
Marvel's struggle with what to do with the Punisher isn't new. At times, it was due to the timing of a heavily armed vigilante on screens following mass shootings. Other moments, it was due to law enforcement using the Punisher symbol to decorate their vehicles. Daredevil: Born Again tackled this issue during its first season by having Frank kill a group of Punisher cops and telling them they simply weren't up to the task.
Punisher: Red Band commences on September 10, 2025. Follow along to see what Frank Castle has in store for his latest comics exploits.
Stay tuned for the latest updates on the Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek universes, the evolving DC Universe on film and TV, and everything to know about the future of Doctor Who.
