Ellen Pompeo (55), star of the hit TV show "Grey's Anatomy," has her reservations about her youngest daughter, Sienna, catching a glimpse of her iconic role as Dr. Meredith Grey. It's not the dramatic hospital scenes that worry the 55-year-old actress, but rather the intimate moments.
During her guest appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live", Pompeo shared her concerns as the series, which recently celebrated its 20-year anniversary, gains a younger audience. Aside from Sienna, she also shares Eli (6) and Stella (15) with her husband, music producer Chris Ivery (57). Pompeo hopes that Sienna will remain unaware of the show's racy content for a while longer.
"I'd rather my daughter sees me in action on the soccer field, not on TV in my underwear."
"My 15-year-old daughter has watched the show, and now my 10-year-old wants to follow suit," she confided in the 57-year-old host. "She's not ready yet, but many kids in her class have seen it. I can't judge the parents of my classmates' kids, but I don't want my daughter to catch me on screen in my underwear." She added with a laugh, "It makes for some interesting conversations at pick-up though."
As a mother, Pompeo feels it's crucial to be there for her offspring. After stepping down from her lead role in "Grey's Anatomy" during season 19, Pompeo expressed her joy and anticipation for spending more time with her children in an interview with Drew Barrymore (50) on her talk show in December 2022. "I have three kids, and I'm focused on caring for them," she shared. "Being more present for them is what truly matters to me now." Despite her newfound freedom, she expressed her gratitude to her fans for their loyalty over the past near-two decades, posting on Instagram, "I'm eternally grateful and humbled by the love and support."
