The documentary follows Will Reeve, an ABC News correspondent, as he retraces his father's 1995 expedition to relive the last great journey his father took before a horse riding accident left him paralyzed.
The journey takes Will Reeve to a tiny Alaskan island near Siberia and a remote lagoon in Baja, Mexico, recreating the documentary tracking the migration of the Pacific gray whale, which was his father's original 'news today' expedition.
