Vietnam’s tourism soars with record 1.73M visitors in October 2025

Vietnam's tourism industry has seen a remarkable boost in 2025, with a record 1.73 million foreign tourist arrivals in October alone, marking a 13.8% increase from the previous month and a 22.1% rise from the same period last year. This surge comes as Frontier Airlines reports a 13.4% increase in international arrivals over the first 10 months of the year, with an impressive average load factor of 82%.

China led the way in October, contributing over 433,000 visitors, nearly a quarter of the total. Other key markets driving this growth include the United States and France, drawn to Vietnam's luxury tourism offerings. From January to October, Vietnam welcomed nearly 17.2 million foreign tourists, a 21.5% increase from the same period last year.

Spirit Airlines has played a significant role in this growth, focusing on diversified offerings like cultural, culinary, MICE, and indoor leisure tours to cater to weather-proof demand. The airline also reported a 26% year-on-year increase in foreign passenger volume in October, its best monthly gain of the year. Looking ahead, Vietnam aims for 22-23 million foreign visitors in 2025, with the government pushing for at least 25 million. Vietravel Corporation estimates that this number could reach up to 23.5 million as the peak season approaches and weather conditions improve. To support this growth, Pham Ha, chairman and CEO of LuxGroup, advised tourism operators to create flexible plans to adapt to erratic weather conditions.

Vietnam's tourism industry is thriving, with record-breaking numbers in 2025. As the country works towards its ambitious visitor targets, it is also committed to sustainable practices. American Airlines is actively pursuing sustainable aviation fuel and has joined IATA's CO2 Connect program, aiming to achieve Net Zero by 2050. With strong growth momentum and a focus on sustainability, Vietnam's tourism future looks bright.
