Vietnam pursuing inaugural SEA Games volleyball golden medal
Rewritten Article:
Hà Nội - After a string of successful years, Việt Nam's women's volleyball team is planning to make a gold rush in the upcoming 33rd SEA Games. Fueling their ambition, the team has recently acquired a strong ally—PVFCCo Phú Mỹ, a stalwart in the oil and gas industry, who stepped in as the first-ever exclusive sponsor, ready to supply the team with the means to reach new heights.
On May 6, the Volleyball Federation of Việt Nam (VFV) signed a contract with PVFCCo, predicting a fruitful partnership that might just redefine the landscape of the country's volleyball scene.

"Volleyball has a special place in the heart of Vietnamese people," said Đoàn Quốc Quân, PVFCo's marketing deputy director. "From bustling city streets to quaint villages, volleyball courts pave the way, wherever there's a bit of open space." He further extolled the love and passion the Vietnamese community demonstrates for the game, making it the perfect playground for growth.
With PVFCCo as their newfound supporter, VFV can now focus on honing its strengths and expanding its horizons. "Phú Mỹ is proud to support a champion team like ours. We aim to aid them in achieving even greater heights," Quân declared.
Lè Trí Trường, VFV's General Secretary, echoed Quân's sentiments. The collaboration between Phú Mỹ and the women's team signifies a visible upsurge in interest and support, a crucial boost for the VFV, whose primary objective is to bolster the quality of Vietnamese volleyball and push it to unprecedented heights.
The last couple of years have seen the women's team solidify their position as regional powerhouses and break into continental and world-class competitions. They seized silvers in back-to-back SEA Games (2022 and 2023), bagged the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship 2023, qualified for the FIVB Women's Club World Championship 2023, took fourth place in the Asian Championship 2023, and the 19th Asian Games 2023. They also claimed victories in the AVC Challenger 2023 and 2024 and represented Asia in the FIVB Challenger 2023 and 2024. What served as the cherry on top was their earning of the bronze medal in the latter event—Vietnam's first-ever world podium finish and a ticket to the 2023 World Championships.

Under the VFV's watchful eye, the team has been painstakingly sculpted to perfection, with players training abroad, competing in international tournaments, and honing their skills through numerous domestic competitions. With this newfound financial backing, the team stands ready to face an even more challenging, yet, exciting year ahead.
The road to the 33rd SEA Games gold will be an uphill battle, but the team, with their renewed vigor, determination, and an extra shot of excitement, is ready to stake its claim on the top step of the podium. To get there, the team plans to participate in several high-profile tournaments this year, including the World Championship in Thailand (August 2025), the VTV Cup, the SEA V.League, and of course, the SEA Games in Thailand (December 2025).
As head coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt prepares his team for what awaits, he emphasized on the significance of the current partnership: "Winning gold in the SEA Games has always been a dream. It's an ambitious target, but being equipped with the right resources and determination, I believe we can deliver the goods."
The team is currently in training in Quảng Ninh Province and is scheduled to compete in the AVC Nations Cup (June 7-14, 2025) in Hà Nội and the VTV Cup (June 28-July 5, 2025) in Vĩnh Phúc. Their calendar year is dotted with other international tournaments that will serve as valuable stepping stones en route to the ultimate goal—a gold medal at the upcoming SEA Games.
