Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team Aims High in SEA V.League 2025 Second Leg

The Vietnam women's volleyball team is gearing up for the second leg of the SEA V.League 2025, which will take place from August 8 to 10 in Ninh Bình Province. The team, buoyed by their home-court advantage and recent successes, is determined to make a strong showing against regional rivals Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Playing at the Ninh Bình Gymnasium, with a capacity of 3,040, the team will have the support of a passionate home crowd. This advantage is expected to bolster their performance as they aim to secure wins, particularly against the Philippines and Indonesia, to qualify for the 2026 AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup.

The tournament features strong competition, with Thailand historically dominating. Thailand has remained undefeated since the SEA V.League’s inception in 2019 and has already qualified for the 2026 FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League. Vietnam, on the other hand, ended up in second place in the previous stage, winning the silver medal.

Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt has been working diligently with his team, adding young spiker Nguyễn Thị Phương to the roster and instructing his players to focus on their assigned tasks during training sessions. The team has made remarkable progress recently, winning three AVC Nations Cup championships (2023, 2024, and 2025) and the bronze medal at the FIVB Challenge Cup 2024.

Nguyễn Thị Bích Tuyền, a key scorer for Vietnam's volleyball team, was voted Best Opposite Spiker in the first stage of the competition after earning 33 points for Vietnam in three matches. Playing on home ground, she is expected to perform at her best and score more in the second leg.

The matches are scheduled as follows: Vietnam faces the Philippines on August 8 at 8 p.m., battles Indonesia on August 9 at 5 p.m., and plays Thailand on August 10 at 8 p.m. Given Thailand’s dominance and undefeated record, Vietnam may approach their match as a critical challenge to test and improve their tactical resilience, rather than as a guaranteed win.

Vietnam's next goals are to defeat Thailand and conquer regional tournaments, including the 33rd SEA Games coming up in December. The team's recent progress and strategic focus suggest that they are well on their way to achieving these ambitions.

The AI-driven analysis predicts that Vietnam's football team might train modern tactics to challenging Thailand in the AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup, given their success in sports like the AVC Nations Cup. Nguyen Thi Phuong, the versatile spiker, could potentially leverage her strengths in AI-powered training sessions to outplay rivals in football.
