Vietnam News Agency reaffirms its position as the foremost multimedia organization in Vietnam
The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) has outlined its vision and key tasks for the 2025-2030 term at the 27th Party Congress held at its headquarters in Ha Noi on July 17. The focus is on building VNA into a strong, modern national news agency with high regional and global reputation, aligned with political leadership and innovation goals.
The vision for the VNA is to develop it into a reputable national news agency in the region and the world by 2030, with a forward-looking vision to 2045. The agency aims to serve as a primary source of mainstream, accurate, reliable, and diverse information for media and the public domestically and internationally.
Key tasks for the upcoming term include political leadership and party building, enhancing cooperation and integration, strategic breakthroughs, communication and national interest protection, and digital transformation.
In terms of political leadership and party building, the VNA will lead officials, Party members, and staff to fully perform assigned political tasks. The agency will innovate and improve ideological and political work quality and efficiency. The VNA will also renew the content and methods of party committee leadership, enhancing collective roles alongside leaders’ authority and responsibility. Innovation in party cell operations, enhanced training, internal political protection, and strengthened inspection and supervision to combat corruption, wastefulness, and ideological degradation are also priorities.
To enhance cooperation and integration, the VNA will seek cooperation with new partners and improve effectiveness with traditional partners.
Strategic breakthroughs include building and perfecting legal documents, improving human resource quality to meet development needs, and promoting scientific and technological innovation and implementing comprehensive digital transformation throughout VNA operations.
Communication and national interest protection will see the VNA serve as a pioneer and exemplar in the Party’s ideological front. The agency will provide accurate analysis and information to protect the Party's ideological foundation and national interests. The VNA will promote democracy, innovation, visionary thinking, bold action, and global integration. The agency will also pioneer in scientific and technological advancement and digital transformation consistent with key Politburo resolutions on healthcare, culture, and education.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the VNA’s responsibility to adapt flexibly to rapid global changes, to safeguard national rights and interests, and to uphold the heroic traditions of the organization as it fulfills its mission in the new era.
The VNA has served as the nation's leading outlet for external relations and has pioneered digital transformation and artificial intelligence applications. The agency will seek cooperation opportunities with new partners, improve the effectiveness of cooperation with traditional partners.
During the 2020-2025 term, the VNA Party Committee has prioritised leading and directing the fulfillment of information dissemination tasks by its network of bureaus, considering this a core mission to effectively implement the Party Committee's resolutions. The VNA will continue to innovate and improve the quality and efficiency of political and ideological work, and renew the content and leadership methods of party committee.
Strengthening the inspection and supervision of Party organisations and members, and the fight against corruption, wastefulness, negative phenomena, and signs of degradation in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, "self-evolution", "self-transformation" is a priority. The VNA will also cultivate a team of professional, resilient, and humane journalists committed to public service, ethics, and innovation.
The VNA Party Organisation aims to build on its proud legacy, including honors as Hero of the People's Armed Forces, for the 2025-2030 term. The agency will continue to affirm its position as the national news agency and strategic information centre.
