Vietnam chosen to host ASEAN Women's MSIG Serenity Cup in 2025
📣 Get ready, football fans! Vietnam is all set to host the ASEAN Women's MSIG Serenity Cup 2025, promising an exhilarating rendezvous of female football talents in Southeast Asia.
The tournament kicks off on the 6th of August, and runs through the 19th, with Phu Tho and Hai Phong playing host to the action. The cities of Viet Tri and Hai Phong will serve as our battlefields, with Viet Tri Stadium hosting both the semi-finals, the third-place play-off, and the grand finale. Lach Tray Stadium in Hai Phong will also be a venue for the electric group stage matches.
This prestigious event will witness the participation of the defending champions, the Philippines, four-time winners Thailand, and three-time champions Vietnam – all of whom are strong contenders for this year's title. The full team roster will be announced shortly, and we eagerly anticipate the official draw on June 9th to unveil the groups.
In a proud and honorable move, Vietnam has been chosen to stage this regional championship, an accolade reflecting the dynamic growth of women's football not only in Vietnam but throughout Southeast Asia.
ASEAN women's national teams have been making significant strides on the international stage. Thailand qualified for the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2015 and 2019, and Vietnam and the Philippines made their debut appearances in 2023. The 2022 tournament saw Vietnam defend their AFF Championship title initially, but they fell short against the Philippines in the semi-finals. Regardless, they claimed their first-ever title by triumphing over Thailand in the final.
