Miki Sudo, the reigning queen of competitive eating, made a triumphant return to the Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Contest this year, securing her seventh win and sixth consecutive title since 2016. The annual event, held on the US Independence Day at the seaside amusement park in southern Brooklyn, saw Sudo consume 31 hot dogs in the 10-minute competition.

Sudo's victory marked her return to the competition following her absence in 2021, due to pregnancy. In her absence, Patrick Bertoletti claimed the title, but this year, he finished second with 46.5 hot dogs.

Joey Chestnut, the defending champion and a competitive eater from America, also participated in the contest. He managed to devour 63 hot dogs, averaging nearly eight hot dogs per minute, but fell short of his record-breaking performance in 2021 when he consumed 76 hot dogs to win his 17th title.

Since 2014, Sudo has dominated the women's division, winning every contest except for 2021. Her impressive streak has solidified her status as the undisputed queen of the Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Other contestants attempted to challenge Miki Sudo's dominance in the food-and-drink category of sports, but none could match her onion-tinged triumph in the Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Contest. Despite her other lifestyle changes due to pregnancy, Sudo's love for competitive eating remained unshakable, leading her to secure her seventh win and maintain her reign as the undisputed queen of the contest.
