In a thrilling display of teamwork and speed, Visma-Lease a Bike emerged victorious in the team time trial at Paris-Nice 2023. The Danish team, led by coach Jonas Vingegaard, averaged an impressive 56.2 kmph over the 28.4-kilometre course, finishing with a winning time of 30:26.96.

Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe completed the podium, finishing 24 seconds behind Visma-Lease a Bike, while Lidl-Trek and EF Education-EasyPost finished fourth and sixth respectively, 29 and 34 seconds behind the winners.

Jonas Vingegaard, a member of Visma-Lease a Bike, expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance. "I believe our execution was near perfect," he said. "The team worked together seamlessly, and we're delighted with the result."

Vingegaard's teammate, Matteo Jorgenson, also impressed, taking over the overall race lead after his win in the team time trial. Jorgenson, who won Paris-Nice last year, now leads the general classification, with Vingegaard in second place, six seconds behind.

The general classification after stage three places Matteo Jorgenson in first place, followed by Jonas Vingegaard in second. Michael Matthews of Jayco-AlUla is in third place, 21 seconds behind Jorgenson. Aleksandr Vlasov of Bora-Hansgrohe is in fifth place, 31 seconds behind Jorgenson.

Tim Merlier, from Soudal Quick-Step, previously held the overall race lead at Paris-Nice, but was unable to match the pace of Visma-Lease a Bike in the team time trial. Merlier won the opening two stages of the race, but will now focus on regaining his form ahead of the upcoming stages.

With the first summit finish of the week approaching, both Vingegaard and Jorgenson are feeling well prepared. Vingegaard believes that the team is in a good position in the general classification, and is looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.

Paris-Nice 2023 is shaping up to be an exciting race, with Visma-Lease a Bike setting a high standard in the team time trial. The battle for the overall race lead is heating up, and fans can expect some thrilling racing in the days to come.
