Victory for HSG Herdecke/End possible in Volmetal Sports Hall
HSG Herdecke/Ende, a German handball team, is preparing for the start of their Oberliga season, with the first match scheduled for August 31 at 5 pm against HC Bergkamen in the Herdecker Bleichsteinhalle.
The team has been working hard in their training sessions, with co-trainer Quentin Münch urging the players to push themselves to the limit as there are only three weeks left until the season starts.
The opening match will be a significant one, as HSG Herdecke/Ende will be facing their rivals in the Oberliga. The team has been gearing up for this moment, having arranged a last-minute match against TuS Volmetal II due to the cancelled match against HSV Überruhr. Despite falling behind 0:1 in the game, HSG Herdecke/Ende managed to pull away and secure a victory.
Niklas Rust, the right-back of HSG Herdecke/Ende, returned to the game after missing two weeks due to an Achilles tendon inflammation. His return was a boost for the team, and he played a crucial role in their win against TuS Volmetal II.
Unfortunately, several key players, including Lukas Mehlwitz and Matthias Zimny, were absent from the match due to vacation. However, the team showed resilience and determination, which bodes well for the upcoming season.
The starting lineup for HSG Herdecke/Ende includes Henning Teich, Tim Förster (2), André Jung (1), Maximilian Rust (7), Yannis Grasediek (1), Luc Herold, Niklas Rust (2), Felix Drescher (4), Dominik Spannekrebs (9), Gero Neuhoff (6), Robert Bösell (1), Leo Pfeil (1).
Before the season opener, HSG Herdecke/Ende will have a training day in the Bleichsteinhalle with two training sessions and a final test against Regionalligist HC Gelpe/Strombach on Saturday. The final test will serve as a benefit event for the Pro Kid organization.
Activities for children will start at 1:30 pm before the game, followed by a celebration and meal. Fans are encouraged to come and support the team as they kick off their Oberliga season.
