Taking a Stroll Down Memory Lane: The Annual Victory Day Celebration in Stepanovka

It's May 6th, and the quaint village of Stepanovka, nestled in Tomsk's heart, is bustling with over 500 eager souls. The occasion? A festive gathering marking Victory Day, a day of reverence and remembrance for the millions who fought valiantly during World War II.

A lively concert was held at the square situated on Botanical Alley, 6/2, according to the organizers. Maxim Reznikov, the Stepanovka representative in Tomsk's Assembly, was also present, emphasizing the importance of paying tribute to our war veterans, the triumphant winners of this epic struggle.

The event featured several activity zones, with the main stage inviting riveting performances that paid homage to the Russian Front. Nearby, a field kitchen catered to our stomaches with a hearty soldiers' porridge. For our little ones, an interactive play area was set up, offering a sneak peek into weaponry handling and gas mask competitions.

Valentina Zinina, a long-time Stepanovka resident, shared her emotional connection to the day, as her parents fought in the war, witnessed its horrors firsthand, and even spent time as prisoners of war. She fondly recalled her father's victorious march to Berlin and his longevity, reaching the ripe age of 81.

To wrap up the evening's pleasant symphony of sounds, the senior vocal group "Fialka" led the audience in a stirring rendition of "The Day of Victory."
