Victory claimed by BVT Lübeck at the A+Tournament
On July 13, 2025, the BVT Lübeck beach volleyball team participated in the Hamburger A+ Tournament of the Beach Volleyball Series. The highlight of the tournament was the outstanding performance of Alina Said and Leonie Umminger, the highest-ranked Lübeck team in the women's field, who started at position ten.
Said and Umminger dominated over the serve and advanced in the women's field, securing surprise victories against higher-seeded teams in the first round and winning thrilling matches in the hope round. One of their most memorable victories was an intra-Lübeck duel against Milena Klapp and Franziska Reidl (Hamburg), who also advanced in the women's field but ended the tournament in seventh place.
In a closely contested match, Said and Umminger emerged victorious against Klapp and Reidl (15:10, 8:15, 15:13). Meanwhile, Nell Ehrlinger and Lucia Maralla, who started with Klapp and Reidl in the women's field, lost clearly in the consolation round to the duo Krams/Frobel, while Said and Umminger defeated them in their duel.
In the men's field, the Lübeck beach volleyball team, represented by Bethmann and Pommerenke, started strongly, winning their opening game against Philipp/Schmidt. However, they suffered a defeat in the following round against the Hamburg favorites Barth/Hauschild. Bethmann and Pommerenke lacked strength against Lorenz/Müller in the quarter-finals and finished in fifth place.
Despite the setback in the men's field, the Lübeck beach volleyball team showed great resilience in the consolation round, winning against Gerken/Winkler and Nguyen/Schlemmer.
Looking ahead, the Lübeck beach volleyball team will continue with the next stop of the Flens Beach Tour on the Nordmarksportfeld in Kiel. As the team continues to grow and improve, fans can look forward to more exciting performances in the future.
Said and Umminger continued their dominance in sports by securing surprise victories against higher-seeded teams in the beach volleyball tournament, which included an impressive intra-Lübeck duel against Milena Klapp and Franziska Reidl.
In the men's field, sports competition was also fierce, with the Lübeck team, represented by Bethmann and Pommerenke, demonstrating a strong start but ultimately finishing in fifth place after losses to Hamburg favorites and Lorenz/Müller.
