The 16th edition of the East Asian Cup, known as the 2025 EAFF E-1 Football Championship, took place in Suwon, South Korea from July 9 to July 17, 2025. This prestigious football competition in East Asia saw a total of 12 matches played over a period of 9 days, featuring teams from China, Japan, South Korea, and Chinese Taipei.

The tournament began with an exciting opening match between China and South Korea, which ended in a draw with a score of 2-2. This set the stage for an intense competition throughout the event.

In the women's event, South Korea emerged victorious, winning the tournament and securing the first place. They finished with a record of 1 win, 2 draws, and 5 points, scoring a total of 3 goals. China and Japan followed closely, both teams having 5 points each but ranked below South Korea based on the tiebreaker criteria of goals scored among the tied teams. South Korea scored 3 goals, China scored 2, and Japan scored 1.
