Vicky Leandros has received the Bavarian Order of Merit in 2025. The 76-year-old singer, known for her decades-long career, was honoured for promoting tolerance and cultural ties between Bavaria and Greece. The award recognises her work against hatred and antisemitism as well as her charity efforts.

Born on 23 August 1949 in Greece and raised in Hamburg, Leandros began her music career early. At just 13, she released her first single, setting the stage for a long list of hits. Songs like I Saw Love, I Love Life, and Theo, We’re Going to Łódź became well-known over the years.

The honour adds to Leandros’s long list of achievements. It underscores her influence as both an artist and an activist. The award ceremony took place in 2025, marking another milestone in her 76-year journey.
