VFW: Support for Veterans by Experienced Service Officers
Yoselin Brice, a former Air Force member and VFW Life Member, now helps veterans navigate the benefits system. Based in Bronxville, New York, she works as an accredited service officer for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Her mission is to ensure those who served receive the support they deserve for service-related health issues.
Brice brings firsthand military experience to her role. Having served herself and lost her husband, Charles—a fellow veteran—she understands the challenges many face. Her background with the Department of Defense also helps her guide veterans through complex federal processes.
As a VFW service officer, Brice assists veterans in filing claims with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She explains confusing bureaucracy and helps survivors who may not realise they qualify for compensation. One of the most rewarding parts of her job is telling veterans their disability claims have been approved. The National Veterans Service of the VFW plays a crucial part in this work. It connects veterans with essential resources, aiming to improve their quality of life after service. Brice balances her demanding role with raising two children in Bronxville.
Brice’s work ensures veterans access the benefits they’ve earned. By simplifying the claims process and offering support, she helps them secure necessary care. Her efforts reflect the VFW’s broader commitment to assisting those who have served.
