VfB Secures €100 Million for Woltemade Project Funding

Stuttgart (dpa) - The transfer saga of VfB Stuttgart star striker Nick Woltemade is heating up, as Bayern Munich reportedly have agreed on personal terms with the player himself but are losing out due to a hefty price tag demanded by Stuttgart. According to recent reports, Stuttgart values Woltemade at a whopping 100 million euros, while Bayern is only willing to spend a maximum of 40 million for the player.

Stuttgart sticking to their guns

With the U21 national team's final against England set for tonight (9:00 PM CEST/Sat.1), the media has been awash with rumors about Bayern's interest in the goal-scoring machine. Woltemade, who had a stellar season, has also expressed a willingness to make a change. However, the nearly two-meter-tall attacker himself remains optimistic about the transfer rumors, stating, "There are always things going on around you, it's not just me, but other players too."

Woltemade joined VfB from Werder Bremen last summer and was initially not included in the Champions League squad. However, he impressed and scored a total of 17 goals and three assists in 33 competitive games, securing his place in the team. He is still under contract with Stuttgart until June 2028, but with no exit clause. Moreover, he has already represented the A national team.

Stakeholders' Perspectives

Apparently, Woltemade himself prefers a move to Bayern and has reportedly informed Stuttgart of his desire to leave. Bayern is preparing to submit its opening bid for the striker, with the club internally approving negotiations. The club aims to finalize a deal as soon as possible[1][2][3].

However, the nearly two-fold difference in valuation could make the deal a challenge. While Bayern sees 40 million as their ceiling, Stuttgart believes the striker is worth twice that amount, reflecting their desire to keep him. It is rumored that figures around 60 million could persuade Stuttgart to part ways with their prized asset[1][2].

The negotiations are set to heat up ahead of the July 1 transfer window, and Bayern's opening bid will play a crucial role in determining the future of the deal[1][2]. In the meantime, Woltemade will focus on the international stage and hope a solution can be found off it.

Despite Woltemade's preference for a move to Bayern Munich, Stuttgart maintains a hefty 100 million euros valuation for their star striker, presenting a challenge for the Bavarian club. The delay in negotiations could forestall Woltemade's potential impact on Bayern's sports teams, particularly their football squad.
