VfB Stuttgart Defender Finn Jeltsch Exits U21 Camp Early Due to Lower Leg Inflammation

German defender Finn Jeltsch, currently with VfB Stuttgart, departed prematurely from the U21 preparatory camp in Thuringia, just two weeks before the start of the European Championship. The 18-year-old center-back is grappling with inflammation in his lower leg, according to information released by VfB Stuttgart, the club that secured the DFB Cup last season.

Initially, there were no details provided regarding the length of Jeltsch's absence from the Bundesliga club. U21 coach Antonio Di Salvo earlier called up Jeltsch for the preliminary squad for the EM in Slovenia (11 to 28 June). The U21 team is currently fine-tuning their preparations in Thuringian Blankenhain for the tournament.

Concerns have arisen due to Jeltsch's injury, as it poses a significant setback for the promising young defender. At present, there are no official statements indicating that Jeltsch has recuperated or is likely to be fit for the UEFA U21 European Championship. His participation status remains undetermined, and, given the nature and timing of his injury, it seems unlikely that he will be available in the immediate future, unless his recovery progresses rapidly and he is deemed match-ready.

In the midst of his recovery, Finn Jeltsch's participation in the UEFA U21 European Championship hangs in balances, as he battles lower leg inflammation, which has sidelined him from VfB Stuttgart's Bundesliga squad. Meanwhile, the U21 team, currently gearing up for the tournament in Thuringia, could potentially benefit from community aid in organizing vocational training programs during Jeltsch's absence, giving young footballers an opportunity to hone their skills akin to those in the European-leagues, including the Premier-League.
