VfB Homberg Prepares for Dress Rehearsal Game Ahead of Niederrheinpokal

VfB Homberg is gearing up for a crucial dress rehearsal game before the start of the Niederrheinpokal. The match, scheduled for 3 pm at the PCC stadium, will see the team face off against SG Wattenscheid 09.

Coach Stefan Janßen views this game as the last tough test before the start of competitive games. He emphasises the importance of everyone giving full throttle until the end, as test games are also fitness tests.

The game against Hamborn 07, the team's last test match, ended in a clear 5:0 win for VfB Homberg. Striker Younes Mouadden, a new signing from FC Büderich, shone in this game, scoring twice and showing effective flexibility in various positions, including filling in for vacationer Marcio Blank.

However, the previously strong lions seemed to tire out in their game against VfB Homberg. Despite creating difficulty in generating clear chances, the team kept up the pressure until the last minute.

Unfortunately, Andres Gomez Dimas was unable to play in the last test due to illness. The team will hope for his full recovery as they prepare for the Niederrheinpokal.

Wolfgang Graf, a department leader, will take the opportunity to present the team and introduce new additions during the dress rehearsal game. Fans can look forward to a full house as VfB Homberg anticipates a strong turnout for this important match.

As for the Niederrheinpokal, VfB Homberg will be the Oberliga team in the competition. Their opponent in the tournament has been confirmed as Wattenscheid 09. With the dress rehearsal game providing a valuable opportunity to fine-tune their strategies and fitness levels, VfB Homberg will be aiming to make a strong start in the Niederrheinpokal.

The team also has a busy schedule ahead in the Oberliga Niederrhein, with matches against Uerdingen 05 on September 28, 2025, and SpVgg 04 Ratingen on November 16, 2025, already scheduled. However, the focus remains on the upcoming Niederrheinpokal and the challenge that Wattenscheid 09 will present.

Coach Stefan Janßen believes the upcoming sports-analysis of the dress rehearsal game against SG Wattenscheid 09 will provide crucial insights into their football strategy for the Niederrheinpokal. In the last test match, Younes Mouadden displayed his flexibility and scoring ability in sports-analysis, highlighting his potential contribution to the team's success in future games.
