Veteran Olympic Sprinter Launches Canine Relay Event to Kick-Off Crufts 2025 Competition
Crufts 2025, one of the grandest events on the canine calendar, commences today, March 6. Whilst the main event is underway, the festivities kicked off earlier this week with a unique canine relay race. In collaboration with vet and Olympic silver medallist in the 1,500m, Laura Muir, this inaugural event underscored the significance of joint care for our beloved pets.
Six swift canines participated in the relay race, modeled after a dog's face, to emphasize the importance of joint health. Guided by challenges inspired by Crufts' renowned agility cause, they completed the race in just 9 minutes and 1 second. The event, designed by joint supplement brand YuMove, followed six weeks of training and supplementation with the Joint Effort Challenge encouraging dog parents to encourage their pets' physical activities.
Laura Muir, who graduated with a veterinary medicine degree from the University of Glasgow in 2018, stated, "As a trained vet, I acknowledge that joint health maintenance is a collaborative effort between pet and pet parent. With suitable joint care supplements and an active lifestyle, every dog can thrive with an active, healthy life."
Fiona Hope, the CEO of Lintbells, the makers of YuMove, commented, "Watching the agility course at Crufts is always engaging, but we believe every dog has the potential to excel. With the right blend of supplementation and movement, dogs across Britain can maintain their mobility throughout their lives. We hope our YuMover team inspires dog owners everywhere to inspire their pets to be active, as most dogs are happiest when they are on the move!"
