Verdict upholds Lotta Frank's elimination from the top 10 ranks.
Lotta Frank, a rising star in weightlifting, recently competed at the 2025 European Youth Weightlifting Championships in Madrid. She was joined by her parents, national coach David Kurch, support coach Andre Pfeuffer, and fellow teammate Franziska Erbert.
Before the competition, Lotta had to shed over two kilograms to weigh in at 47.71 kilograms, a testament to her dedication and discipline.
However, despite her impressive preparation, Lotta's name does not appear in the official results or reports of the competition. This suggests that she either did not compete, did not place in the top rankings, or her results have not been publicly reported.
In the snatch event, Lotta finished ninth, tied with an eighth place Turkish lifter and just behind the seventh place Italian. She started the clean and jerk at 60 kg without any issues, successfully lifting 52 kg in her first attempt and 58 kg in her second attempt.
Lotta aimed to lift 58 kg in her third attempt to place among the top ten European lifters. However, the referees judged her lift as valid with a 2:1 majority, but later deemed it invalid due to slight pressing. As a result, she finished twelfth in the clean and jerk and eleventh overall.
Despite the outcome, Lotta showed unbounded willpower and excellent technique, making her best lift in the snatch. The weightlifting hall at the competition had an excellent atmosphere, with athletes from all over Europe participating.
Franziska Erbert will step onto the platform on Tuesday, and Lotta's parents, along with Franziska's mother and brother, will be there to support them. The competition took place in a fitting venue for young weightlifters, providing an inspiring backdrop for the future generation of champions.
