Venture capital firms and investors are increasingly backing blockchain companies. With growing interest and adoption, major players like Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, and Digital Currency Group are investing heavily in the sector.
Blockchain Capital, one of the oldest investors in blockchain technology, has supported over 36 companies. Similarly, IDG Capital has made early-stage investments in Ripple and Circle. Other notable investors include Polychain Capital and Pantera Capital, which specialize in crypto and blockchain technologies. They have funded a wide range of projects across DeFi, NFTs, and infrastructure.
Boost VC, an accelerator focusing on blockchain, AI, and VR, has contributed to companies like Ledger and Coinbase. Meanwhile, Node Capital, based in Beijing, focuses on blockchain-based companies and offers digital analytical tools for cryptocurrency trading.
With the popularity of blockchain and its use-cases like cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and DeFi, venture capital firms are positioning themselves as strategic backers in the sector. Digital Currency Group alone has invested close to $100 million since 2013, indicating the growing potential and interest in blockchain technology.
