Vengeful Vigilante Frank Castle Returns, Ready for More Bloodshed as the Punisher
Revamped Revolution:
Get ready for the comeback of our favorite TV vigilante, Frank Castle, aka the punishing, gun-totin' antihero! Now, he's making his way back to the comic book world in the much-anticipated Punisher: Red Band, a gritty five-issue miniseries penned by none other than Benjamin Percy (of Wolverine fame) and Julius Ohta ( Iron Man aficionado)!
After a hiatus in 2023, we last saw Frank controlling the Hand ninja cult, discovering his wife was alive, and seeking a divorce, and his mysterious journey to Weirdworld. In this new comic adventure, Frank returns to the concrete jungle of New York with no recollection of his past, but make no mistake, the body count will rise as this guy's still got the knack for eliminating enemies!
As shown in his TV counterpart, this Punisher is poised for some blood-soaked chaos, and the Red Band label on the series serves as a telltale sign of the graphically violent content it promises.
According to Percy, "The Punisher is one of my top favorite characters, and writing this series has been a dream come true for a very long time. I'm going all-in on my favorite genre: psychopaths run amok. This series won't disappoint—street-level carnage guaranteed!"
Marvel's indecisiveness regarding Frank Castle is not Far fetched. Some of this hesitation came with the timing of its release in connection to mass shootings, while at other times, Frank’s symbol had been co-opted by law enforcement agencies[4]. Even the hit series, Daredevil: Born Again, touched upon this by having Frank execute a group of Punisher cops, telling them they were nothing more than a poor representation of the iconic character[6].
Stay tuned as we eagerly wait for the advent of Punisher: Red Band, set to commence on September 10, 2025.
