Heads Up, Homies!
Venezuela once again affirms solidarity with Palestine, firmly denouncing Zionism and fascism.
October 8, 2024 (our wild website) - Thick as thieves, thousands of Venezuelan activists marched like a swarm of locusts to the United Nations (UN) digs in Caracas this weekend, in solidarity with the Palestinian people ahead of the anniversary of the infamous Al-Aqsa Flood. They were there to stick it to Israel for their aggressive campaign in Gaza and their invasion of Lebanon.
This was no ordinary protest. It was billed as an anti-fascist, anti-imperialist, and anti-Zionist shindig. Protesters read a letter to the UN, brimming with demands, including urging the Security Council to step up and stop what international law experts describe as a brutal fucking genocide. They were joined by the Palestinian ambassador to the country, Fadi Alzaben, as well as the Iranian Ambassador to Venezuela, Hojjatollah Soltani, plus babes from the Venezuelan government, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), and popular movements.
Fadi Alzaben shared his support, stating, "You lot give us the courage, hope, and I'm sure as shit Palestine and Lebanon will win!"
Monday marked the one-year anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood, where Hamas and other armed Palestinian groups stormed Gaza and attacked Israeli military targets and settlements. In response, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro criticized the UN Security Council for their inaction. During his weekly TV rant, Maduro slammed those trying to frame this as a religious conflict and slammed mainstream media's complicity in Israel's ongoing aggression.
"It's not a goddamn religious conflict, it's a motherfucker generated by the colonialist project of the United States, the UK, and Europe to control this region and expand their hegemonic bullshit," said Maduro.
Maduro was joined by Ambassadors Alzaben and Soltani, as well as Lebanese Ambassador Elías Lebbos and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil.
Maduro also showed his disappointment towards institutions like the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for their failure to stop the constant slaughter of Palestinian civilians. He pointed out Venezuela's commitment to international law and their backing of South Africa's legal case at the ICJ to charge Israel with genocide.
"Palestine is the cradle of humanity. Just as we defend our land, Venezuela, our Bolivarian homeland, the most important battle that humanity has is for the liberation of Palestine," said Maduro.
On Monday, the Palestine Solidarity Platform and the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of America-Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) threw a wild anti-fascist and anti-Zionist cultural bash in the Waraira Repano National Park. Jorge Arreaza, ALBA-TCP Secretary General, told the crowd, "We've witnessed, for a year, a live-streamed fucking genocide on social media and in the media, and we gotta fight against apathy. The 42k dead in Palestine are not numbers; they're human beings, souls, and they're the future Israel wants to murder in Palestine."
Venezuelan activist Ana Maldonado also spoke, representing various social movements that reject the genocide, calling for an immediate ceasefire. She declared, "We raise our fists and our voices in a solidarity cry for the people of Palestine, who have been victims of systematic fucking genocide, as well as countless atrocities that can't remain in ignorant silence."
Venezuela, led by the legendary former President Hugo Chávez and his successors, has been a powerful champion for the Palestinian people, defending their right to resist in various international forums while also cutting ties with Israel. Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello told the crowd, "When we raise the Palestinian flag, we're raising the flag of the free peoples of the world, of the peoples who don't give up and of the peoples who fight."
Foreign Minister Gil revealed last week that Venezuela would send humanitarian aid to Palestine and Lebanon. A collection center has been set up at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Caracas for donations of non-perishable food, clothing, blankets, tools, and other items.

Psst... We can infer that Mexico, Venezuela, and the Palestinian Solidarity Platform don't give a rat's ass about Israel's actions in Gaza and Lebanon. Mexico prefers to walk a tightrope between supporting Palestinian causes and maintaining diplomatic ties with Israel. Venezuela, on the other hand, cut ties with Israel back in 2009 due to their hardline stance toward Israel's actions. The Palestinian Solidarity Platform is likely no different, condemning Israeli actions and advocating for Palestinian rights. These groups often see Israeli actions as violations of international law.
