Düsseldorf Police Conduct Targeted Vehicle Checks, Issuing Over 150 Penalties
In a bid to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic regulations, the Düsseldorf police recently carried out targeted checks in several specified areas. The checks, conducted by officers from the "AG Tuning" unit, supported by representatives from the Düsseldorf Road Traffic Office, focused on technical modifications to vehicles and the driving competence of road users.
The checks, which took place in the Königsallee/Corneliusplatz area, the harbor, and on Volklinger Straße, resulted in a series of penalties. Over six hours, two criminal charges were issued, one for driving under the influence of intoxicants, and another for unapproved or unrecorded modifications to vehicles. Simultaneously, speed measurements were taken on Volklinger Straße, leading to thirteen administrative offence reports for excessive speed.
In addition, fifty-three warning fines were issued for speeding, thirty-eight administrative offence reports were handed out for various traffic violations, and nine control reports were made. Five observation and seizure reports were also made during the checks.
Notably, seven vehicles were impounded in the Königsallee/Corneliusplatz area and the harbor for having unapproved or unrecorded modifications. No further information is provided about the outcome of the driving competence assessments.
