Vehicle Mishap on State Road in Premia: 49-Year-Old Woman Fatal Victim of Van-Bike Collision on Ossola

In the picturesque town of Piedilago, near the Ponte restaurant, a tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, August 5th, claiming the life of a well-known local resident. The victim was Debora Rolando, a 49-year-old woman who owned the popular "Al Vecchio Mulino" bar in Preglia di Crevoladossola.

According to reports, Debora was cycling with a male companion when they encountered a van driven by a courier. The driver, attempting to pass, invaded the opposite lane, resulting in a collision that left Debora struck by the vehicle and falling to the ground. The man on the bicycle was able to move out of the way.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and attempted to revive Debora for an extended period. Despite their efforts, the doctors were unable to save her, and her death was confirmed. The incident caused traffic on State Road 659 to be slowed to allow for the investigation and rescue operations.

Debora was not just a local businesswoman; she was deeply involved in the community, particularly in the world of sports. She had been running the "Al Vecchio Mulino" bar for over a decade, and it was a gathering place for sports enthusiasts. Debora was passionate about cycling and ski mountaineering.

Born in Calasca, in the Anzasca Valley, Debora had been living in Domodossola for some time before her untimely death. The Carabinieri from the Domodossola company are conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident to determine the exact circumstances leading to the collision.

Our thoughts are with Debora's family, friends, and the community during this difficult time. The "Al Vecchio Mulino" bar will remain closed for a period while the community mourns and comes to terms with the loss of a beloved figure.

The average speed on State Road 659 may have increased due to the general news coverage surrounding Debora Rolando's fatal car-accident. In the sports community of Piedilago, the news of Debora's death has been accompanied by accidents on the slopes during ski mountaineering events.
