‘Varanasi’ Teaser Unveiled in Grand Style Despite Leak Drama
The much-anticipated teaser for SS Rajamouli's 'Varanasi' was unveiled at a grand event on Saturday, November 15, despite an earlier leak. The event, held at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, drew massive attention with lead actors Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas presenting the first glimpse.
The official teaser, despite being leaked earlier, was unveiled as planned. It begins with stunning visuals of ancient Varanasi, dating back to 512 CE, showcasing saints performing yagnas, dense jungles, and the Uggra Bhatti cave. The teaser also features ancient warfare and dramatic illustrations of Lord Hanuman setting Lanka ablaze, with references to 7200 BC.
The highlight of the teaser is Mahesh Babu's intense look, with a beard, blood stains, wielding a trident, and riding a bull through the ancient temples of Kashi. The leak occurred during technical testing, with Rajamouli revealing it was illegally recorded using a drone. Despite the setback, the team prepared for the massive reveal, which also included a live performance by Shruti Haasan of her recently released single from the film, composed by MM Keeravaani.
