Golden State Valkyries Shatter 3-Point Record in Dominant Win Over Washington Mystics

The Golden State Valkyries continued their impressive form in the WNBA, setting a franchise record for 3-pointers and 3-point percentage in a single game, as they handed the Washington Mystics their fifth straight loss.

In a lopsided contest, the Valkyries stormed to a 30-12 lead at the end of the first quarter, thanks in part to a blistering 9 of 11 shooting from beyond the arc. Janelle Salaün led the way with 11 points, while Cecilia Zandalasini and Veronica Burton each scored 20 and a career-high 30 points, respectively.

The Mystics, who trailed for the majority of the game, struggled to find their shooting touch, managing only 6 3-pointers for the game. Iriafen scored a career-high 23 points, while Emily Engstler hit three 3s and scored 13 points. Sonia Citron added 13 points and orchestrated a 29-9 fourth-quarter run for the Mystics, but it wasn't enough to mount a comeback.

The Valkyries, who have won all three meetings with the Mystics this season, will look to continue their winning ways when they face the Sky in Chicago in their next game. The Mystics, meanwhile, will look to bounce back when they take on Indiana in their next outing.

Tiffany Hayes also chipped in with 14 points for the Valkyries, as they shot an impressive 46.7% from 3-point range. The team's record-breaking performance in 3-point shooting is a testament to their potent offensive firepower, and they will be a force to be reckoned with in the WNBA this season.
