Uzbekistan and Kuwait deepen economic ties with new trade agreements
Uzbekistan and Kuwait are strengthening their economic ties following a recent high-level visit. Uzbek Minister Laziz Qudratov travelled to Kuwait to build on agreements made during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s earlier trip. The discussions focused on trade, investment, and new opportunities in agriculture, logistics, and industry.
Uzbekistan has positioned itself as a key partner for Kuwait in food security. As one of the world’s top ten fruit producers—growing cherries, apricots, and figs—it can supply fresh produce directly or collaborate on joint agricultural projects. The country also seeks Kuwaiti expertise and capital for its own development, particularly in oil and gas, chemicals, construction, real estate, and banking.
The visits and agreements signal growing collaboration between Uzbekistan and Kuwait. Improved transport links, legal protections, and shared economic interests provide a solid foundation for future trade. The next steps will focus on turning discussions into concrete projects across multiple sectors.
