The Uttar Pradesh Assembly recently held a historic 24-hour marathon session in August 2025, aimed at discussing and presenting the government's Vision Document 2047. This comprehensive development roadmap outlines the state's plans until India completes 100 years of independence.

The session, which began at 11 am on Wednesday and ended at 11 am on Thursday, saw presentations from ministers such as Tourism and Culture Minister Jayveer Singh at 6 am, Coordination and Labour Minister Anil Rajbhar at 3 am, Junior Education Minister Rajni Tiwari making the last presentation before the session ended, and Science and Technology minister Anil Kumar speaking at midnight on Thursday. Khadi and Village Industries minister Rakesh Sachan spoke after Anil Kumar.
Despite the opposition's decision to boycott the session, the presentation of the vision document proceeded as planned. The Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, had previously appealed to the Samajwadi Party to be present during the presentation. However, the Samajwadi Party chief, Akhilesh Yadav, termed the 24-hour session as "madness". Senior Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav also criticized the BJP-led government, stating they only know how to make headlines.
