Uttar Pradesh Braces for Rain, Thunderstorms from Oct 2-5
Uttar Pradesh is preparing for scattered rain and thunderstorms from October 2 to 5, with Allahabad expected to receive light to moderate rainfall on Monday, October 1. The state is currently experiencing oppressive conditions with temperatures ranging from 32 to 37°C and humidity between 76 and 95%.
The weather department has issued alerts for light to moderate rain at isolated places in western UP, including Meerut, Ghaziabad, and Moradabad, on October 1. Eastern UP, influenced by the Bay of Bengal low-pressure system, has better rain prospects. Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Prayagraj can expect light to moderate rain at a few places. Central UP, comprising Lucknow and Kanpur, will also experience light rain with thunderstorms on September 30.
The brief monsoon return is beneficial for paddy crops before the final withdrawal mid-October. UP expects light to moderate rain across 33 districts from September 30 to October 5.
