Utah Mammoth locks in Michael Carcone with $3.5M extension after career-best season

Utah Mammoth forward Michael Carcone has signed a two-year contract extension worth $1.75 million per season. The deal keeps him with the team until 2026, following a standout season in which he set multiple career records. Beyond hockey, Carcone and his wife Mia actively support the Down syndrome community in Utah through charitable initiatives.

Carcone's latest contract comes after a strong 2023-24 campaign with Arizona/Utah. He recorded career highs in goals (21), points (29), game-winning goals (4), and games played (74). Over his NHL career, he has now tallied 48 goals and 35 assists in 223 games.

Before joining Utah, Carcone won the John B. Sollenberger Trophy as the AHL's top scorer in 2022-23 while playing for Tucson. He also helped Team Canada secure gold at the 2023 IIHF World Championship. This season with Utah, he has contributed 14 goals and 12 assists in 66 games, ranking seventh on the team in goals and tied for sixth in even-strength tallies. Off the ice, Carcone and his wife Mia have been vocal advocates for the Down syndrome community. In honour of World Down Syndrome Day, he designed a special sock collection for the non-profit For Bare Feet, with proceeds supporting the cause.

The two-year extension ensures Carcone remains a key player for Utah through the 2025-26 season. His on-ice performance and off-ice advocacy continue to make an impact both in the league and the local community. The Mammoth will rely on his scoring ability and leadership in the coming years.
