'Modi-fying' India's 1st Visit: A Dream Come True for Vance Kids
To the delight of everyone, not just the Vance clan, JD Vance and the Prime Minister's heart-to-heart conversations paved the path for strengthened personal bonds. Usha shared that the interaction between her husband and Modi was "extremely productive."
The adventurous family met PM Modi in Paris, initially tired and delirious, only to find an Indian grandfather figure in him. "Their sleep-deprived selves saw an Indian man with a white beard and towering white hair, and they rushed to place him in the 'grandfather' category right away," she chuckled.
To the children's surprise, PM Modi presented them with a birthday gift for their youngest during the meeting. Their son, smitten by the gesture, adopted a plan to move into Modi's residence because of a nearby mango cart, which undeniably stole his heart!
Two continents, one big happy family
The Vance family's itinerary was brimming with cultural highlights. They danced their way through the golden Taj Mahal under the soft glow of dawn, marveled at the splendor of Jaipur's Amber Fort, and reveled in the architectural wonder of Delhi's Akshardham Temple and the Cottage Industries Emporium.
Vivek, their adventurous eight-year-old, was beyond thrilled to meet elephants and camels, while their daughter cherished the freedom of her auto-rickshaw ride, all under the watchful eyes of the Secret Service. Ewan, the little artist, couldn't help but turn the enchanting puppet show featuring scenes from the Ramayana into a DIY project at home with construction paper.
Usha emphasized how the rich and colorful experiences echoed in their hearts, making the visit an extraordinary journey they'll carry forever. "The whole experience was too special to ever forget," she said with a gleam in her eyes.
