US Women's Archery Olympic Team Pursues Golden Victory
The US Women's Archery Team is gearing up for a historic run at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with their sights set on winning the country's first Olympic gold in women's archery since 1996. This ambitious goal is backed by the team's impressive form, having recently defeated South Korea, a dominant force in the sport, at the third stage of the 2025 Hyundai Archery World Cup in Antalya, Türkiye.
The key members of the current US Women's Archery Team include Casey Kaufhold, Jennifer Mucino-Fernandez, and Catalina GNoriega. These three archers, who have shown remarkable skill and composure under pressure, were instrumental in the team's historic victory over South Korea.
Casey Kaufhold, the top U.S. woman in recurve archery and currently ranked world No. 1, is competing in her second Olympics. She clinched the women's title in the U.S. Olympic Archery Trials, demonstrating her consistent performance. Kaufhold will be joined by her teammates, who have also proven their mettle in international competitions.
Brady Ellison, a three-time Olympic medalist, is another key player for the US team. Ellison, who is competing in his fifth Olympics, showed his skills last year by becoming the world's No. 2 in men's recurve. Ellison and Kaufhold work well together and push each other to be their best, forming a strong mixed team that earned a spot for the mixed team event by winning together.
The Paris Olympics will feature five archery competitions, giving the US more opportunities to win medals. The mixed-gender archery format, which combines the wisdom of age with the energy of youth, offers even more chances to secure a place on the podium.
The Olympic archery events will take place at the Esplanade des Invalides in Paris. The US has secured the maximum 3 quota places for women's archery in Paris 2024, but has only qualified 1 spot so far for the men's event.
The rich history of US archery motivates current female archers to aim for the top and make their country proud. American women have played a vital role in archery, with notable figures like Luann Ryon, Denise Parker, and Lia Coryell paving the way for the current generation.
As the countdown to the Paris Olympics continues, the US Women's Archery Team is poised to make a significant impact in the sport, aiming to bring home the gold and continue the legacy of American archery excellence.
