During his visit, he has held a series of high-level meetings with senior US military and political leaders, reinforcing Pakistan's commitment to bilateral cooperation and multilateral military collaboration.
The visit began with Field Marshal Munir attending the Retirement Ceremony of outgoing U.S. Central Command (Centcom) Commander, General Michael E. Kurilla. He praised Kurilla’s leadership in strengthening bilateral military ties and expressed confidence in continued cooperation under the new Centcom commander, Admiral Brad Cooper.
Field Marshal Munir also met with Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, to discuss matters of mutual strategic interest. They discussed successful US-Pakistan counterterrorism cooperation efforts in the region.
During his stay, Munir addressed the Pakistani diaspora in Tampa, calling them a “brain gain” instead of a “brain drain” and encouraging them to support investment in Pakistan. He emphasized the diaspora’s importance in Pakistan’s progress and prosperity and expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for strategic leadership that helped avert war between Pakistan and India.
The visit followed an earlier historic meeting in June where Munir became the first serving Pakistani army chief to have a face-to-face meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House, focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, energy, artificial intelligence, and security.
Moreover, President Trump publicly confirmed the bilateral trade agreement, stating that both nations are in the process of selecting an energy firm to lead the project. The agreement includes plans for joint development of Pakistan's untapped oil reserves.
The Pakistani diaspora reaffirmed their commitment to Pakistan's development and expressed readiness to contribute to national progress. During the interactive session, COAS Munir urged overseas Pakistanis to remain optimistic about the country's future and to actively support efforts to attract foreign investment.
In addition to these meetings, Field Marshal Munir interacted with defence chiefs from allied nations, reinforcing Pakistan's commitment to multilateral military collaboration. His visit to the United States has undoubtedly strengthened military-to-military relations, highlighted counterterrorism collaboration, fostered positive diaspora engagement, and signaled a renewed and constructive trajectory in US-Pakistan ties underlining security, economic, and diplomatic dimensions.
