US rapper Sean Kingston to serve multiple years behind bars

The alleged crimes came to light after a raid on their Florida home, leading to the arrests of Kingston and Turner in May 2024. Kingston was apprehended separately at an Army training base in California where he was performing, while his mother was taken into custody during the raid.
The judge gave Kingston a lighter sentence than prosecutors requested, citing his acceptance of responsibility and lack of dishonesty on the stand compared to his mother. Kingston's defense highlighted that many victims were eventually paid back and emphasized his positive contributions to others.
