Barry Manilow, the 82-year-old singer behind classics like Mandy and Copacabana, has revealed a lung cancer diagnosis. Doctors discovered the illness during an MRI scan for bronchitis. The star has now cancelled all performances through December and January as he prepares for treatment.

Manilow’s medical team believes the cancer has not spread, though further tests will confirm this. Surgery to remove the tumour is planned, but no chemotherapy or radiation will follow. The singer remains hopeful about his recovery.

Las Vegas has long been a second home for the performer. For decades, he headlined shows in the city, including his 2019 residency The Hits Come Home. Now, his focus is on health, with a goal to return to the stage by Valentine’s Day concerts in February.

The diagnosis has forced a temporary break from live performances. Fans can expect updates as Manilow undergoes surgery and awaits test results. His team has stressed that the outlook remains positive for a full return to music.
