In a series of controversial statements, U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, has launched a rare and fierce attack on British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Huckabee, a 69-year-old evangelical pastor, has a firm support of Israel and has questioned the very existence of a Palestinian people. He has expressed views that place significant blame on Hamas for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasising that Hamas prioritises its own survival and exploits aid rather than caring for the Palestinian people.

Huckabee criticised Hamas for using international food aid as leverage and benefiting while ordinary Gazans suffer hunger and deprivation. He downplayed the notion that Palestinians in Gaza are being forcibly expelled, stating that no one should be forced to leave Gaza and that both the U.S. and Israel have indicated no plans to compel displacement.

Regarding the two-state solution, Huckabee described it as an aspirational goal but questioned the specifics and practical implementation, suggesting few have clear answers on its details.

Meanwhile, Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, advocates for a ceasefire in the conflict, an increase in humanitarian aid, and the release of all hostages. He described Israel's announced plan to "defeat" Hamas in Gaza as a "mistake" and urged Israel to "immediately reconsider" its plan for Gaza.

Huckabee's latest statement criticises Starmer's approach to the conflict, suggesting it will not end the conflict or secure the release of hostages, and will lead to more massacres. In a provocative move, Huckabee compared the situation to the UK not surrendering to the Nazis and not dropping food, suggesting that if Starmer were Prime Minister at the time, the UK would be speaking German.

London is working with allies on a long-term plan to ensure peace in the region, within the framework of a two-state solution. The Israeli security cabinet's plan to "defeat" Hamas and "take control" of Gaza city has not been directly addressed in the current context.

Gaza city, which is devastated by war and facing a severe humanitarian crisis, remains a critical concern for international aid organisations and world leaders.

The ongoing war-and-conflicts in Gaza, specifically the latest between Hamas and Israel, has long been a subject of fierce politics, as evidenced by the recent statements from U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee. Huckabee, known for his strong support of Israel, has questioned the existence of a Palestinian people and placed significant blame on Hamas for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He has also criticized Starmer's approach to the conflict, suggesting it will not lead to peace and will result in more general-news related issues such as massacres.
